Maltese Bark

Okay, first of all, the main reason why Maltese bark could be because it is being protective, as Maltese dog is extremely protective of its owner. They will bark when they hear distrustful noises, either from strangers or from other animals; they act as “watch dogs” ( yeah, a tiny one…) in these kinds of occurrences.
Why do Maltese Bark
All dogs have a natural instinct to protect, and the most efficient method of alerting its owner(s) of some kind of danger, or just to show emotions, feelings, or thoughts, is by barking, though it also develops other, not as efficient, methods or signals of alerting its owner or owners, such as leaning its head to one side or jumping up on its owner. You do also need to determine if the danger, if there is one, that could cause your dog to be barking is a valid one, as a dog can, and often does, consider a factor to be hostile even if it is gentle.
As dogs rarely bark without reason. You must first find the cause, see if the reason is valid, and then try to apply techniques to have it to stop barking. Though sometimes may not be able to do so accurately since a dog can hear a noise over long distances, those which a human can’t, and a male canine can sense a female one in heat for up to three miles away. There is also a very big, seemingly endless, list of things a dog can bark at, like cars, certain kinds of people, etc.
If you are able to determine the reason for it be barking, and it is indeed unnecessarily for it to bark, you must try to teach and train your Maltese to understand that its barking is not needed. Of course, you must be sure to designate a place for things a dog would consider to belong to it only, like its blanket, its food, its toys, and other things a dog would consider to be its own, and try to make sure no one disturbs that spot. A canine often barks to chase people from things it considers its own.
How To stop Your Maltese Bark
To stop Maltese bark, one thing not do is to be seen frustrated or make irritated noises in fornt of youe Maltese, for that will give it the signal that there is something you are getting jumpy at and will be encouraged to continue. Calmly tell it to be quite (a “Shh,” should work), and pat it once, lightly, to tell it that everything is okay. Be sure to not pat it in a way that makes it think you are happy with it and want to continue barking. Repetition is required here, as it will teach your Maltese the actions which please you, and they should stop barking. If a dog is barking out of control, then to get them under control, their owner must teach them to remain in control. Be sure to keep it out of boredom, too.
